Tēnā tātou katoa, e te whānau!
This year is flying by so quickly with another successful contracting round completed in time for the new term. As usual, funding continues to be a major challenge for most of you. Despite this, there have been some amazing achievements made this year and we invite you to continue to share these via the SHopp.
New Principal Advisor – Jo Elvidge
A notable success has been the appointment of Jo Elvidge as the new Principal Advisor for Sexual and Reproductive Health for the Ministry. Many of you may know Jo in her capacity as workforce development lead for public health. Jo may be contacted on email@example.com. I know, like me, you will all welcome having Jo working on our behalf to address some of the gaps we know there are in SRH. Nau mai, haere mai, piki mai e Jo. Welcome to the whānau! Jo will be leading the development of the Ministry’s national work plan for SRH and many other things as well. I’m sure you will all get an opportunity to get to know Jo over the next few months, if not at upcoming NZSHS Conference.
The National Sexual Health Society Conference as usual looks like a real winner this year. I look forward to catching up with you there, if not before. The SHopp will soon be fully web-based and have links to lots of things of interest. Our interconnectedness, which is our strength, is truly growing.
It’s a short panui from me as I’m sure others will contribute lots of really cool stuff for this edition of SHopp!
Stay well, safe and warm this winter.
